Child Safety Standards
Effective Date: April 14, 2026
Last Updated: April 14, 2026
1. Zero Tolerance Policy
Qaswa Connect maintains an absolute zero tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on our platform. This policy applies to all users, administrators, and any content shared through the App.
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all users, particularly minors. Any content, behavior, or communication that exploits, endangers, or harms children in any way is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action, including but not limited to:
- Immediate removal of all offending content
- Immediate and permanent termination of the offending user's account
- Reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline
- Reporting to local and federal law enforcement agencies
- Full cooperation with any resulting investigation
- Preservation of all relevant evidence for law enforcement
2. Age Requirements
Qaswa Connect enforces strict age requirements to protect minors:
- Minimum Age: Users must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the App. This requirement is in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- Parental Consent: Users between 13 and 17 years of age must have parental or legal guardian consent to use the App.
- Age Verification: During account registration, users must confirm they meet the minimum age requirement. We reserve the right to request additional verification of age at any time.
- Underage Account Removal: If we discover or are informed that a user is under 13, we will immediately terminate their account and delete all associated personal information.
Users who lie about their age to circumvent these requirements violate our Terms of Service and will have their accounts terminated upon discovery.
3. Prohibited Content
The following content involving minors (anyone under 18 years of age) is strictly prohibited on Qaswa Connect:
- Any sexual or sexually suggestive content involving minors, including images, videos, text, illustrations, or AI-generated content
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
- Content that sexualizes, objectifies, or depicts minors in a sexual manner
- Content that facilitates, promotes, or glorifies child exploitation or abuse
- Grooming behavior — any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation or abuse
- Solicitation of sexual content or personal information from minors
- Content that encourages minors to engage in dangerous or inappropriate activities
- Sharing or requesting personal contact information of minors for exploitative purposes
- Content depicting or promoting physical abuse, neglect, or endangerment of children
- Trafficking, kidnapping, or any content related to the exploitation of children
4. Prevention Measures
Qaswa Connect implements multiple measures to prevent child exploitation and ensure the safety of minors on our platform:
- Age Gating: Account creation requires users to confirm they are at least 13 years old
- Content Moderation: Automated and manual review systems to detect and remove prohibited content
- Community Reporting: In-app reporting tools that allow any user to flag suspicious content or behavior for immediate review
- Chat Safety: Group chats are moderated by masjid administrators who are responsible for maintaining safe environments
- Admin Vetting: Masjid administrators undergo a registration and verification process before gaining administrative privileges
- Privacy Controls: Minors' profiles have limited visibility, and personal contact information is not publicly displayed
- No Direct Messaging to Unknown Users: Communication occurs within community group contexts moderated by masjid administrators, not through unrestricted direct messaging with strangers
- Education: Community guidelines prominently displayed to all users outlining expected behavior and prohibited content
5. Detection and Reporting
Qaswa Connect takes a proactive approach to detecting and responding to potential child safety violations:
5.1 Reporting Mechanisms
- In-App Reporting: Every piece of content and every user profile includes a "Report" button that allows immediate flagging of concerning content or behavior
- Email Reporting: Users, parents, guardians, and the general public can report child safety concerns directly to safety@qaswaconnect.com
- Admin Reporting: Masjid administrators have enhanced reporting tools and are trained to identify and escalate potential child safety issues
5.2 Response Protocol
Upon receiving a report of potential child exploitation or abuse, we will:
- Immediately review the reported content or behavior
- Remove any confirmed violating content within minutes of detection
- Suspend the reported account pending investigation
- Preserve all relevant evidence, including content, metadata, and user information
- Submit a report to NCMEC CyberTipline within 24 hours of becoming aware of apparent CSAM or child exploitation
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies investigating the matter
6. Law Enforcement Cooperation
Qaswa Connect cooperates fully with law enforcement agencies to protect children:
- NCMEC CyberTipline: We report all instances of apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline (www.missingkids.org/gethelpnow/cybertipline) as required by federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A)
- Federal Agencies: We cooperate with the FBI, Department of Homeland Security (HSI), and other federal agencies investigating child exploitation
- Local Law Enforcement: We respond to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, search warrants) from local law enforcement agencies
- Evidence Preservation: We preserve relevant data and evidence as required by law and in response to lawful preservation requests
- Emergency Disclosure: In cases involving imminent danger to a child, we may disclose user information to law enforcement without a subpoena as permitted under 18 U.S.C. § 2702(b)(8)
7. Enforcement Actions
Violations of this Child Safety Standards policy will result in the following enforcement actions:
- Immediate Content Removal: All violating content will be removed immediately upon detection or confirmation
- Permanent Account Termination: Any user found to have posted, shared, or solicited CSAM or engaged in child exploitation will have their account permanently terminated with no possibility of reinstatement
- IP and Device Banning: Known offenders may be banned at the device and IP level to prevent the creation of new accounts
- Law Enforcement Referral: All confirmed cases of CSAM, child exploitation, or grooming behavior will be referred to NCMEC and appropriate law enforcement agencies
- Evidence Preservation: All relevant data will be preserved and made available to law enforcement as required by law
- Connected Account Review: Accounts associated with or connected to the offending user may be reviewed and subject to action
These enforcement actions are non-negotiable and will be applied consistently regardless of the user's role, status, or history on the platform.
